Allred's Restaurant

Allred's River Club

On Top of the Mountain

Allred's Restaurant not only serves up some of the region's best cuisine, but you will also literally gasp at the spectacular views. The bank of windows affords sweeping vistas of the Sneffels range.  Arrive an hour before sunset and you will be treated to the alpenglow dancing across Ajax in different hues of yellow, gold, orange and pink.

The restaurant is named for Ron Allred, who was the visionary behind the Telluride Ski Area, Mountain Village, the golf course, Gondola and the airport. Ron's dream was made into a reality for all of us to enjoy.

Allred's is a private club at lunch but opens for happy hour and dinner at 5 p.m. Come enjoy a drink in the bar area and take in the breathtaking view or sit down for an exceptional dining experience. The menu changes seasonally but covers a wide variety of entrees from seabass and bigeye tuna to elk, pork, beef and veal. Interesting appetizers and small plates include spicy country fried cauliflower, crispy shishito peppers and hamachi crudo prepared traditionally with soy sauce and yuzu.

You won't go wrong with any wine as it is an extensive award-winning global list. But should you be more of a 007 type -  the martinis are sublime.

If you have left room for dessert, try the sticky toffee pudding cake or the pumpkin mascarpone cheesecake; you won't be disappointed.
