New Sheridan Chop House

River Club Sheridan

Lively Fine Dining in the Heart of Telluride

The Sheridan Chop House is Telluride's bustling go-to steakhouse. Decorated with a Victorian theme, a nod to the mining era of Telluride, this restaurant oozes charm. Deep red and gold patterns are used throughout from plush banquets to designer window coverings. There are two separate dining areas, the first being the parlor that is first-come-first-serve, while the main dining room takes reservations. The Chop House serves brunch from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. and then reopens for dinner service at 5:30. Please note - Reserve well in advance if you plan on dining over the holidays, 4th of July or spring break weeks. This place fills up fast!

While steaks certainly shine, pan-seared duck, Colorado lamb, elk tenderloin, assorted seafood, and vegetable linguine round out the menu. A daily selection of oysters on the half shell is a terrific starter. Typically there is representation from both the east coast and west coast.

Come summertime, the dining room opens up for al fresco dining and the rooftop becomes quite the swanky scene. Replete with a bar, high top tables and couches for lounging, the rooftop affords fabulous views of Ballard. Stick around a little longer and watch the sunset - Telluride is known for spectacular fire skies!  While the menu is limited on the roof, it's always fun to gather around a table and share a tin of truffle fries and charcuterie. Be sure to try the Aperol Spritzer or a Moscow mule, both completely refreshing on a summer eve.

Finish your meal with a little something from the dessert menu. Creme brulee is dreamy as is the toffee bread pudding. Or opt for the Chop House's signature after-dinner cocktail, the Flatliner. A delicious blend of Vodka, Baileys Irish Cream, Kahlua, cold-brewed espresso served up with three espresso beans. Beyond delish.
